This monograph is the first comprehensive study of Heinrich von Neustadt s religious poem 'Gottes Zukunft' ('God s Arrival'). It examines the transformation of religious knowledge in the vernacular and points out how Heinrich von Neustadt deals with crucial theologumena beyond the scholastic tradition. In particular, the study focuses on Heinrich von Neustadt s strategies of depicting and explaining the mysteries of the Christian faith using varying narrative techniques and perspectives as well as elements from different storyworlds. The study makes an innovative contribution to the literary analysis of religious writing in the late Middle Ages.
